It was such an honor and a great experience taking on this mural project with Mari and Andrew last week at the Worcetser Art Museum. Thankyou to everyone at the museum for giving us this precious experience. Special thanks to Adam, Eric, Katrina, Lisa, Yumi, and Nick for your generous support and hospitality. I can honestly say that I truly enjoyed this experience. The first day of painting I was overwhelmed and intimidated by the size and height of the wall. And most of all, it was challenging working in front of an audience. I felt very insecure and self conscious, and it was such a struggle to get into my own zone, and not worry about criticism. But day two felt a little better, and by day three I was enjoying seeing my image unravel. I felt more confident and found myself feeding off the energy of people that came to look and say hi. So, thank you to all that stopped by to show support and to chat. I’ll be tackling another mural soon, and am pretty excited about it. Working large scale is liberating, and hope this experience will shift and improve the way I work. It was a tough and exhausting week, but am so happy and grateful for it all. Thankyou!

Piece for 'The One Page Comic Show' where artists were asked to tell a story in one page.
I was intrigued by this, since I grew up reading Japanese manga, and once dreamed of becoming a manga artist.
Though it was definitely challenging I enjoyed it.

This group show will be held at Roq La Rue Gallery in Seattle.

(This company has previously made my cup & saucer and scarf.)

Each design comes in three different sizes. 45cm, 60cm and a 100cm Floor Pillow.
However we only produce 250 of each pillow design.

These limited edition pillows are made from very soft faux suede with an equally soft luxurious feather inner. The print quality is outstanding!
Each is shipped with a sequentially numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

so if/when you would like it to get framed, you do not have to leave a white border around the image.

this way, it will look more like the original!

Unframed Prints will be shipped in a tube.

Audrey Kawasaki began her artistic career in her native Los Angeles, after some schooling at Pratt Institute in NY. Moments in the artist’s personal life inform both subject matter and context for her paintings, with strong line work and delicate oils blending seamlessly onto naturally grained wood panels. The artists' newest series of paintings entitled Hirari Hirari, which translates from Japanese as the sound or movement of a petal, leaf or feather slowly falling, is inspired by kimonos given to Kawasaki by her mother and draws from natural motifs such as flowers, birds, and flowing lines found in wind and water. Kawasaki's paintings are comprised of dreamy yet enigmatic portraits of women that exist in moments of tension between idealized innocence and sensuality. The compositions are sometimes melancholic, yet are ultimately resolved in their beauty and balance.
